My Kind of Mystery 2019

my-kind-of-mystery-2019

So as I literally just started blogging again after A LOT of years, I missed signing up for a crapload of reading-related challenges that popped up on the blogosphere for 2019. And honestly, I am not very good at keeping up with most challenges anyway — due to their stringent timetables, rules, qualifications, etc. So when I happened to discover this challenge – “My Kind of Mystery” hosted at Riedel Fascination – I knew I had to join the fun. Even if I’m a few months behind. Not only do I read mystery after mystery after mystery, I really love the idea that pretty much anything goes here. There are no rigid posting rules. You just gotta read some books. Which is more than fine by me!! I love to read. It’s my life, as you’ll soon see.

Anyway, for the rest of the year I have a lot of books in mind I want to read. I can’t begin to name them all but here are some I’m really drawn to:

The Kate Waters series by Fiona Barton
Digital Fortress by Dan Brown
The 39 Steps by John Buchan
Stillhouse Lake by Rachel Caine
Parker Pyne Investigates by Agatha Christie
Dead Wrong by Leighann Dobbs
Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
Thin Air by Robert B. Parker
The House Next Door by James Patterson
The Murder House by James Patterson
Red Alert by James Patterson
The Harriet Blue series by James Patterson
The Women’s Murder Club series by James Patterson
Mistletoe Murder by Leslie Meier
Maycroft series by Lisa B. Thomas
The Christie Curse by Victoria Abbott
Pizza Lovers series by Chris Cavender

Big Book Summer Challenge

bigbooksummer

This challenge is hosted by Sue at Book by Book.

The goal is to read “Big Books” this summer. That is to say, books that are chunky monkeys and more than 400 pages each! I love this idea and have already signed up on Goodreads. But now that I’m a blogger (alright, a wannabe!) it only seems right to make this my first challenge to tackle. The books I am planning to read this summer are-

  • 1st to Die by James Patterson (424 pages)
  • Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi (544 pages)
  • Great Expectations by Charles Dickens (505 pages)
  • Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (850 pages!!)

That’s well over 2k pages! (I think I can, I think I can) Anyway, please wish me luck and if you’re so inclined, check out the challenge yourself and give it a try. You only need to read 1 Big Book to enter the giveaway for an Amazon giftcard. WOOT!
